A Thai retirement visa generally refers to a Non-Immigrant Visa Category “O”, “O-A”, or “O-X” issued to foreign nationals aged 50 or older who wish to retire in Thailand without engaging in employment.

Retirement Visa

Applicants must Marriage Visa - Non-Immigrant Visa - Non-O: Visa Category “O” issued to foreign nationals who are established by Thai immigration authorities, such as maintaining sufficient funds in a Thai bank account or proving a qualifying monthly income. Depending on the visa category, applicants may also need to provide health insurance, a police clearance certificate, and a medical certificate. These visas allow long-term stay in Thailand and may be extended in accordance with Thai immigration regulations, provided the applicant continues to meet the eligibility requirements. Employment of any kind is prohibited under a retirement visa.
